EVERYTHING YOU NEED

OUR STORY

HOW WE MET

June 2017, Cannes. Hemma had come down to Cannes for a few days during the Festival, staying with our friend Paul — today one of our witnesses. Half hoping to bump into Brad Pitt, she ran into Axel instead, on the red carpet. After two weeks spent together, Hemma had to head back to Bordeaux. As we were saying goodbye, a stolen kiss on the station platform rather upset the plans. On 28 June 2017, Hemma came back to spend the summer in Cannes. The rest of the story… you know it.

THE PROPOSAL

14 December 2025 – Jambiani Beach, Zanzibar. Axel had thought of everything. Well… almost. A ring bought at the last minute, a few days before we left, then hidden away until the big night. The proposal was meant to happen at sunset. But after a solid hour of pacing up and down the beach, Axel finally worked up the courage… somewhere between dusk and full dark. Luckily, Hemma said yes. And a few days later, Santa took care of breaking the news to our families.

WHY FRANCE

Quite simply because this is where we built a good part of our story. Between the Bordeaux–Cannes back-and-forth of our early days, our student years, our first apartment a stone’s throw from Place de la Victoire, two families who never say no to a good glass of wine, oysters on the Bassin d’Arcachon and barbecues that run late with family and friends… we couldn’t think of a better place to bring you all together.
